Fighting the flu can be done naturally if you take the time to begin choosing healthy lifestyle changes which will insure that your immune system stays healthier throughout each season.
1.Limit your sugar. Sugar has been linked to weakening the immune system.
2. Limit your stress. Stress is compounding and weakens our immune system over a period of time. Meditation, yoga, singing, and even laughing can destress us.
3.Getting enough sleep. 6-8 hours is recommended, normally on your back or side. Rest allows us to prepare and repair our bodies for the next day.
4.Vitamin D. Vitamin D fights off many infections and studies have shown that people with less vitamin D are more likely prone to respiratory infections, colds and even the flu.
5. Pro biotic rich foods. To support a healthy immune and digestive system.
6.Omega- 3 fats. Found in many animal based foods we eat (IE salmon) which supports a healthy immune system
7.Exercise. Exercise increases are blood circulation, releases many hormones to fight off stress to support a healthy immune system. The cheapest form of exercise is walking
8.Wash your hands. Just like mom had told us washing your hands limits the spread of germs. Always remember to not rub your eyes, face and mouth with your hands because this is an easy opening for the virus to invade the immune system.
